Did you know that the United Kingdom is the second largest consumer of porn in the world, second only to the U.S.? (Source: pornhub).
The numbers of U.K. Christians who have issues with pornography are striking:
From a survey of U.K. Christians:
- 75% of Christian men view porn at least monthly.
- 41% of Christian men admit to being addicted to pornography.
- 20% of Christian women are viewing porn on a regular or semi-regular basis.
- 30% of church leaders view porn regularly
- 10% of Christian men have paid for sex.
- 90% of Christians believe the church does not adequately support those struggling with porn

“It’s hard to find support. Anywhere. Some just laugh and say, “Porn is normal.” Others judge us. We went to our pastor, but this was a waste of time; my husband felt like the pastor blew him off.”
The quote above is from a wife in the U.S. Just as it’s hard to find help for recovery from porn and adultery here in the U.S., it’s even more so in a country like the U.K. where Christian resources are scarce for this issue.
That last statistic, the one about 90% of U.K. Christians believing the church doesn’t support those who struggle with porn is something I hope we can help with next week. We (my daughter Bekah and I) are leaving for the UK this morning and will arrive tomorrow.
