"I sought the Lord, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears." ~ Psalm 34:4 Holman CSB

We live in a fear-based world, a world where bad news travels at light speed and good news doesn't. These are troubled times, times when we have legitimate fears for the future of our nation, our world, and our families. But as Christians, we have every reason to live courageously. After all, the ultimate battle has already been fought and won on that faraway cross at Calvary.
Perhaps you, like countless other believers, have found your courage tested by the anxieties and fears that are an inevitable part of 21st-century life. If so, God wants to have a little chat with you. The next time you find your courage tested to the limit, God wants to remind you that He is not just near, He is here.
Your Heavenly Father is your Protector and your Deliverer. Call upon Him in your hour of need, and be comforted. Whatever your challenge, whatever your trouble, God can handle it. And will.

Worry is a cycle of inefficient thoughts whirling around a center of fear. ~ Corrie ten Boom

"I have spoken these things to you so that My joy may be in you and your joy may be complete." ~ John 15:11 Holman CSB

Complete spiritual maturity is never achieved in a day, or in a year, or even in a lifetime. The journey toward spiritual maturity is an ongoing process that continues, day by day, throughout every stage of life. Every stage of life has its opportunities and its challenges, and if we're wise, we continue to seek God's guidance as each new chapter of life unfolds. Norman Vincent Peale advised: "Ask the God who made you to keep remaking you." That counsel is perfectly sound, but easy to ignore.
When we cease to grow, either emotionally or spiritually, we do ourselves a profound disservice. But, if we focus our thoughts -- and attune our hearts -- to the will of God, we will make each day another stage in the spiritual journey . . . and that's precisely what God intends for us to do.

Today's Prayer ~ Heavenly Father, I want to grow closer to You each day. I know that obedience to Your will strengthens my relationship with You, so help me to follow Your commandments and obey Your Word today . . . and every day of my life. Amen

"Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations." ~ Psalm 100:4-5 NKJV

Life has a way of constantly coming at us. Days, hours, and moments are filled with urgent demands requiring our immediate attention.
When the demands of life leave us rushing from place to place with scarcely a moment to spare, we may fail to pause and thank our Creator for His gifts. But, whenever we neglect to give proper thanks to the Father, we suffer because of our misplaced priorities.
Today, make a special effort to give thanks to the Creator for His blessings. His love for you is eternal, as are His gifts. And it's never too soon -- or too late -- to offer Him thanks.

Today's Prayer ~ Dear Lord, sometimes, amid the demands of the day, I lose perspective, and I fail to give thanks for Your blessings and for Your love. Today, help me to count those blessings, and let me give thanks to You, Father, for Your love, for Your grace, for Your blessings, and for Your Son. Amen

"Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time." ~ 1 Peter 5:6 NKJV

If you sincerely seek to be a person of faith, then you must learn to trust God's timing. You will be sorely tempted, however, to do otherwise. Because you are a fallible human being, you are impatient for things to happen. But, God knows better.
God has created a world that unfolds according to His own timetable, not ours . . . thank goodness! We mortals might make a terrible mess of things. God does not.
God's plan does not always happen in the way that we would like or at the time of our own choosing. Our task -- as believing Christians who trust in a benevolent, all-knowing Father -- is to wait patiently for God to reveal Himself. And reveal Himself He will. Always. But until God's perfect plan is made known, we must walk in faith and never lose hope. And we must continue to trust Him. Always.

When there is perplexity there is always guidance -- not always at the moment we ask, but in good time, which is God's time. There is no need to fret and stew. ~ Elisabeth Elliot
