Hi everyone,
My name is Lew Gervais and this is my first post on this forum.
I am the recovery pastor in my church http://www.ziononline.com and I also work for a ministry called Hope Ministries http://www.hopeministriesflorida.org where I co-lead a Christ centered support group for men who struggle with sexual issues.
I grew up in rochester New Hampshire and my childhood was plagued with doubt and insecurities. I never actually got into porn but was addicted to fantacy and masturbation. By the time I was in junior high I had full blown fantacies living in my head. I couldn't get rid of them and as a result I would run home to relieve myself at my earliest opportunity. It was a fearful thing to not have control of your own thought life but that is exactly where I was. I started using drugs to cope with my sexual addiction. the drugs kept me numb and actually helped me control the sexual torment I lived with.
By the time I graduated from high school I was a full blown drug addict. I joined the Air Force and my drug use graduated to shooting heroin. I was busted by the Air Force and sent through their drug treatment program. I continued to use drugs and fantacies to feed my addictions. In December of 1972 I commited my life to Christ and put down the drugs almost overnight. My sex addiction took over 6 months to come under God's control.
Sense then I got out of the military and graduated from college as a school teacher. 25 years ago I got married and had two children who are both in their twenties now. In 1985 I left the classroom and became a missionary moving to nassau Bahamas to work with crack addicts. I now live in Palm bay Florida and I continue my ministry to the addicted. God continues to give me victory over lust and masturbation. I am always looking for healthy places the men in my group can go for added help. I am glad I found this web site and this forum. Pardon me for bring so long winded.

Lew, it's great to "see" you in here. It's Steve in Colorado, your buddy from His Mansion. 
Folks, whatever Lew says, you need to listen to him. The man has a lot of wisdom and he's a great guy!
