| Does anyone know of any online chat groups available for spouses of addicts? Message boards are WONDERFUL but there are times I need to vent / release and get a response.

I don't have direct experience with this, but COSA ( http://www.cosa-recovery.org ) has telephone meetings. CoDA ( http://codependents.org ) has online meetings, but they would probably not be particularly focused on partners of sex addicts. Neither of these is really what you asked for, but they might be places to start a search.
There probably are other resources out there.

My husband is the addict yet I feel I'm the one with the problem. To a degree I am. CODEPENDENT!
There isnt any COSA meetings around me and I just learned on the telemeetings etc. I will investigate the codependent though.
I'm just confused, overwhelmed, exausted, disgusted and scared to death.
Thx

There may also be church-related programs available that I just don't happen to know about, too.
It's a pity that meetings both for addicts and for partners are a lot less common than AA/Alanon meetings. The need is certainly as great. Actually, one thing you could consider is attending Alanon, if nothing else is available. I have attended open AA meetings when I was unable to make it to my own SAA and SLAA meetings; and while the focus is slightly different and I just vaguely identified as "I'm Tim, and I'm an addict," I still benefited.
All the rest of your feelings are pretty natural. We behave in ways that are confusing, exhausting, disgusting and scary. I hope you find some source of support, whether through meetings or counseling or friends or some combination.

Thanks.
I haven't been able to even attempt to speak to anyone regarding this except my therapist, husband and online. I just can't approach any of my family or friends with this, I'm uncertain of their reaction. Stupid isn't it. Still afraid of how they would react to me and my h.....
I won't stop investigating. I used to go to Alanon years ago. My father was a severely abusinve alcoholic. Sufferred a MAJOR stroke, I ended up being his total caretaker to every aspect of the word, until his death 6 years ago. I will give that a try. It certainly won't hurt.
