Yesterday I started reading At The Altar Of Sexual Idolatry by Steve Gallagher. I am only up to page 84 but I keep getting stung on every page so far. I can tell this is going to be a book I will have to read more than once but there are a lot of things that I didn't have the words for but this book is really having a effect on my life this last day.
I read his autobiography a few months ago, Out of the Depths of Sexual Sin: The Story of My Life and Ministry and maybe that's helping me read this book, knowing where he is coming from.
I can't wait to finish this book.
Anyone else read it?

I finished the book while sick in bed the other day. I may have to read it again as I was sort of hazy myself, but the overall impact of the book was good for me. It helped me think of a lot of things I had not seen in some light and I connected a lot of dots. It was worth the 14 dollars just for one or two of the times I spent just sitting and thinking after reading a few of the chapters.

Yes, I have read At The Altar Of Sexual Idolatry and done the work book. It has help me in breaking the bondage of lust.
I am not idolizing Steve Gallagher or Pure Life Ministries. Saying that they are the only one who know the answers. But, looking at what they are doing to help men with sexual sin. You will see Gods hand on Pure Life Ministries.
As you also see what blazinggrace is doing to help men with sexual sin also has Gods hand on it.
I suggest that you look at some of the other books and resources Pure Life Ministries offer. It will truly help.

The first time I heard about Pure Life Ministries was when I was at a large men's meeting and they had a table there. This was before I told anyone in my Church about my sin and I kept going by that table all through the day hoping my pastor or some one else from my church would "catch" me there so I would have to confess to being addicted to pornography.
I got a catalog while I was there and as I have one of those mind that dosn't do well with "instructional books" I got the biography first and read it which really helped me read the Alter book. (Which of course will be out in a new version with two more chapters on Internet porn in a month or so now I have bought it, LOL!)
I know what you mean about God's hand being on it and on this site.
God's hand has been on me in Four major areas in my walk away from this sin,
A.) Dying for me on the Cross
B.) Putting me at the Pure Life Table as it really planted the seed.
C.) Bringing us to a church where the Pastor was in my shoes at one time and I could see he wasn't seen as a monster and was still loved and respected.
D.) for bringing me to this site so I can stay accountable and have somewhere to go when those feelings are on me at any time day or night.
