I love this book.
"Growing Slowly Wise: Building a Faith That Works" ( by David Roper) is a study on the Book of James, and tells us why the so-called "Epistle of Straw" is to be considered, arguably, one of the most important books of the New Testament.
James doesn't pull any punches. He tells it like it is, and doles out hard teachings that should be at the core of every Christians life. Its not easy to accept hard teachings and apply them to our lives, but that's just what the Apostle James tells us to do. And David Roper gets that point (and many others across) in a manner that makes you feel more like your listening to a friend talk about James, rather than just reading a book.
I found James teachings on lust and fornication especially interesting as I am in a struggle with online pornography.
I would recommend "Growing Slowly Wise: Building a Faith That Works" to anyone interested in learning more about the book of James, or struggling with lust.
Its a great read.
