OK so here's the story. My boss confided in me that a friend of his has fallen into sexual sin. Here is a short breakdown of the story.
LF, has not had a very loving childhood. While her mother cared deeply, "I love you" was seldom a phrase ever used by her father. They are Mennonites. Mennonites, generally are very loving and compassionate people, but there is a group within the Mennonite culture, that find emotion to be a sign of weakness. Emotion is almost sin for them. LF comes from a family like that. By God's amazing grace, LF was born again as a teen. She came to know the lord, and walked in his footsteps. But even though she had a relationship with Christ, there was this void in her life, left by a father who didn't seem to care. She never felt loved. Her father didn't show it, she didn't have a boyfriend, so the void remained unfilled. I feel it important to note, that she retained her purity up until the instance I will talk about later. She knew the dangers of sexual sin, even though her parents would have never told her. All through her teens she didn't break the purity God had given her. Commendable in this age where websites like this are necessary. Into her twenties, she became friends with a girl from town. This friend became her best friend, someone she could confide in, tell her secrets, hopes and dreams. What she didn't know at the time was, her friend was Bi-sexual, and not a Christian. So one day, this love starved girl, in confusion and passion, is seduced by her friend, and falls into sexual sin. In a feeling that I think most here can agree with, afterward, the confusion didn't leave. In fact, it was worse. Now she is so confused, and distraught, she questions her worth, as a Christian. This is the sort of thing she would never even have known about, and she can't believe she fell into such a trap.
Our prayer request is this: First and foremost that the feelings of attraction will subside/disappear. Like many of you are aware, even though we know it's sin, and against the will of God, our flesh pulls, and the desire is strong. She is dealing with something she has never had to before, and it's eating her up inside. Pray that she can feel God's forgiveness, and comfort, and draw strenth from Christ, to flee temptation, where ever it finds her.
Please post your prayers, and reference as much scripture as possible. I want to print these prayers, to show, God loves her, and there are people out there who have beaten this, and she will be able to as well.
Write as though you write to her.
