| Other people are struggling too. You are not alone. That is the first thing you need to know. You have fallen into a trap in your mind. God, and honesty help the most. Try to find some counseling, and some support. The boards here are a great place to check in.

I wish I could tell you how to make all the pain stop. I can't, but I can say that I know exactly how you feel. I turn 20 soon and all I can think about is how far I have fallen.
I remeber when I found this site. It was the middle of the night (...like it is now apparently >_<*) and I had just fallen into the Grand Canyon of sin. Thankfully this site gave me hope, if only a little at a time that was, and still is, one of the darkest in my entire life.
Unfortunetly, I have no one in my life I can share this struggle with. My family is not one in which I can share these problems, and we have no church family (despite a desperate 3 year search). However, I can assure you this place is safe, caring and God sent.
Therefore, right now the only advice I can offer are these two things:
1. At the slightest tinge of desire, or lust, or thought... RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!! And litterally dive into the arms of God. This is an enemy you stand no chance against on your own. Only God can slay this beast. Moreover if you fall into temptation don't waste time kicking yourself and dive into the arms of God. Believe me, I have wasted so much time beating myself for things only God can fix.
2. Whenever you feel yourself loosing all faith. Whenever you feel God has desserted you (which he hasn't, but it certainly feels that way sometimes). Remember these wise words: "Preach faith until you have faith; then preach faith because you have faith". These were words given to a strong Christian man when he asked his mentor what he should do about his lacking faith.
Every time I feel God has desserted me I remember these words and it reminds me of what I know as TRUTH. That God is God. I may not always feel Him and I may not always like what He has to say when I do feel Him, but HE IS GOD. All I can do is continue living and preaching Him until my heart remembers. And I've found that the more I preach and live Him, the more my heart remembers.
I pray this helps you and anyone else who reads this. It helped me just writing it. Ususally does. Since it makes my frozen heart remember.

| There is no easy fix to any addiction. But the knowledge that you are not alone and that many others have faught thier way through this should be of great encouragement. Even greater is that God is here twenty four seven to give you the support and love you need. I know it seems like you are alone and you feel abandoned. But God will not turn from you in your hour of need. Ask and you will receive. Fill your mind with scripture and the knowledge of God and any time you feel tempted turn to God and focus only on him. Be strong we will all be praying for you here. We know your hurt. Find a good church and make Godly friends. Flee temptation do not give it even the slightest chance to find a foot hold. Come here as often as you need to. Someone will be sure to answer any questions. Also find a good christian councelor. Be safe in the knowledge that God loves you and so do we.

| Ty yall have helped me alot. I've grown up in church all my life. This web site as give me an outlit in which to relieve the guilt. I know God has forgiven me but i can't seem to forgive myself. Just getting my sin out in the open has helped me more than i could have ever imagined it would have. I been thinking about telling one of my friends about my sins and asking her to be my accountability partner but i am so afraid she won't ever think of me the same way again. Just keep praying for me.Ty

Some advice that has served me well is to engage the sword of the spirit by memorizing scripture. Remember that when satan tempted Jesus in the desert, he didn't respond with a prayer, or with willpower, He replied and fought off the temptation with the spoken word, "It is written...." This is the literal sword of the Spirit of God, and as the book of Romans encourages, it is "the renewing of the mind." as accomplished by memorizing scripture. Trust me, when you have spent the past 3 days repeating over and over a verse that applies to your particular weakness, and you are confronted with a temptation those words will literally pop into your head and your mouth. You know how it can happen I'm sure, but when we are in the heat of the decision, all we can hear is our pulse and our lust, that is magnified 1000 times by our shame. When we commit the word of God to memory, it's recall is God literally speaking to us at the time when we need Him most. His words will come rushing in to teach, admonish, lead and direct us. Moreover, the memorization process will honestly begin to renew your mind and your heart, which of course overflows in our words, attitudes and actions. Finally, Beth Moore has some WONDERFUL online bible studies where you can plug in and learn, and work at your own pace. They do cost a little, maybe 20 dollars each, and then you are able to log on and listen to her speak and download the homework pages to complete before you log on for your next session. Very convenient and fun. A really amazing one I found extremely applicable to me is "Believing God." I am praying for you. Love from a sister.
