Hi faithful BG members,
As some of you may have, unfortunately, noticed, we have been plagued of late by some trolls, those opposing the mission here who seek only to disrupt. Alas, Mike, Barb, Steve and I must sleep sometimes, and tend to other responsibilities, so such posts may not be dealt with immediately, but will be as soon as one of us returns. I realize that some of the trolls start as wolves in sheep's clothing, but as soon as they show their true colors, please cease to respond to them, since, if they hijack a serious thread, we must expend time deleting your replies, which will no longer have context, as well as the offending posts. Also, continuing to respond keeps bumping such things to the top of the most recent threads, giving them even more exposure. I thank those of you who have compassion for these folks, but prayer will likely do more good than attempts at persuasion.
Thank you all for your help.

Can we have a "wanted" poster so we can track them down? I'm not suggesting a reward.

Sorry, I shouldn't have been flippant, Barb. This is a serious problem and no joking allowed.

Yes it is very serious, but a little humor goes along way

Dear Truthseeker,
I'm very concerned about the troll thing. I certainly don't need to get rip off one more time by another person posing as something other than who they are.
Please tell me some of the things to look for, so I can guard the treasures of my heart.

Hi C123,
This was a couple of weeks back, and surfaces occasionally. I'm not sure how those who are not serious about recovery or partner support find this site, but sometimes they do, and range from pretending, at first, that they are one of us, then start posting scornful messages. Some ask what seems a skeptical, though possibly sincere question, then ridicule the responses they receive. Some start out being rude and vulgar, or blatantly challenge Mike's stated positions. There would have to be some means of careful screening to avoid such folk, but an automated registration system allows those in need of quick access to support to access it promptly. I hope that this does not leave you feeling vulnerable here, as we do the best damage control that we can within our human/scheduling limitations.

Thanks for the information. So, basically if I follow my instinct and trust my experience, I should be able to figure it out.
