Why on earth would we want to help out a magazine which is as clearly part of the problem as Maxim is? You can't possibly be serious, can you? Unless you're a troll (in which case, well done!) I have trouble seeing this working for you.

My thoughts exactly, and I wrote and told him so. He does, for what it's worth, appear to be legit, as a google search did connect his name as an assistant editor. I pointed out that if he really did address the subject honestly that he would be at odds with the magazine's philosophy, and, if successful at inspiring anyone to get help would lose them as a reader. Unfortunately, I think that the worldly philosophy is that it is not an addiction unless it prevents you from getting up and going to work in the morning or being able to pay your bills on time. That is a long way from identifying it as the adultery that it is.

Oh, one other thing, Andrew: I'm sorry to be suspicious, but I'm sure you can understand that I and others here might have trouble completely trusting your organization, which seems to us to be engaging in immoral and exploitive behavior, and which clearly promotes attitudes we think can only be destructive. If you're here in order to get reactions you can give humorous spins to and publish as jokes, I hope you'll take notice of the fact that Terms of Service seem to assert a copyright on the contents of this board, a copyright I hope Blazing Grace will enforce. I'd certainly be horrified to learn that remarks here had been quoted in Maxim, though realistically I wouldn't have any means of detecting this sort of breech of integrity.
On a more welcoming note, if you are or think you may be suffering from sex addiction, I hope very much you'll stay around and be willing to share with us. You can always create another account if you are worried about your anonymity. There's lots of support and hope for real recovery available in the world if at some point you discern that you have a problem.

Andrew, that's like Budweiser going on to an Alcoholic Anonymous' message board and asking people there about their alcoholism.
I purposely posted this here because I wanted this reply to be covered under this message board's umbrella.
