... It's impossible!

(This was from my recovering reading this morning.)

Any thoughts, comments or reactions?

What book are you reading from, Steve?  My first thought was "Amen to that!"  Men need other men in healthy relationship....and God...so much!  The reason addiction takes place is partly due to a wound or lack in these other areas anyway, so I'd agree....it's impossible to truly recover alone!!!  I also have a few questions below.

If a couple begins therapy, but closure never seems to happen before they stop going, the guy cannot find a men's group to be a part of, money is an issue, etc...and another episode of acting out occurs a year or so down the pike, what would you suggest to the spouse?  How will she know her husband is serious about getting free and genuinely healing?  Will it only be in the course of time?  Just wondering what your thoughts are here?

It came from my Journey Of Recovery Study Bible published by the International Bible Society. A friend who was involved in the project gave it to me for free and it's become a handy "second" Bible for me. :)

Regarding your questions: Boy, I would really need more information before I would give advice. Can you tell me more? What does you mean by "closure" and what's the goal of achieving it?

And I just made it my signature.

I don't like cliches and slogans that much, but in my spiritual journey I have found this truth to be the "bottom line" for those in recovery of any addiction and their significant others.
