Okay, this is driving me up and over the proverbial wall. I was at my father-in-law's house Friday night for a birthday party. Almost at the end, the "boys" turn on WWF or something to that effect. Okay, so I *personally* find pro wrestling to be sophomoric and barbaric, but that's just my own foul opinion. Here's what really upset me .... Who only knows how many scantily clad women come parading out and this one woman crawls up on the mat ... the TV had to kinda mix the digitals at that point to cover her up. I HEAR these little boys of the family ... specifically ages 4, 6, 7 and let's NOT mention their fathers sitting there ... giggling. I think smoke (where there's smoke there's fire) musta started rolling from my nostrils because my husband suggested "let's go home" about that time. Now, I'm glad he suggested leaving because I was working up to a full blown volcanic reaction right about that time. This is a church-going, supposedly way dedicated Christian family here....and they are THAT blind? So, I have decided basically to say something as nonoffensive as possible out of concern for what they may be innocently starting in these kids (oh hey, boys will be boys NOT). I do not see how in the world they can all find this "okay"!

Here's where I need help .... opinions, scriptures, remarks, etc.....

I know for a fact with the life I lead right now, these little boys shouldn't be watching this, it's practically soft porn from my viewpoint. If I can save ONE future wife in this family from my own private hell, I will do so at any cost. If I can save ONE little boy in this family from getting addicted to porn, I will do so at any cost.

What would you say, and calmly, to these people? I honestly do care about these kids, and I honestly have a feeling their parents aren't thinking a thing about the possible ramifications in the future by allowing this to go on. ACK!

That is just what I would tell them. My sister allows her boys to watch this crap. I get so angry with her, and it is not just the half nude girls I have problems with. I have problems with the cussing and the violence. But then again my sister is lost:X So I have to pray for them daily.....

Very troubling incident, for sure.

One quick thought in the form of a question: Is your husband willing to speak to them about this?

On this subject of "Prowrestling"...my husband is into this as well.  I also am offended by the whole thing.  I would be interested to hear opinions from both men and women on this.

Steve,

While he seemed to agree when I was venting about it, he kinda' sorta' nodded his head in an up and down fashion ... my first impulse is to say no, he isn't. He has worked very hard for decades to hide his problems from his family, and him confronting them and any type of details may make him worry they might get suspicious.

I think I'll go with the modesty angle, pointing out men are visual and keep images stored in their brains for ages. I can also use the Samson story (I saw a woman!), Matthew 7 (I think) and the comment from Job, "I have made a covenant with my eyes" and wing it from there.

How about Phil. 4:8-9.  "Whatsoever things are true,...pure...of good report...think on these things."

2 Cor. 10:3-5.  "bringing in to captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ."

You might ask how they would feel about letting them see this if it were their mom in the scene.

Eph. 5:1-5.

Would they put this on to entertain Christ in person?

1 Thes. 4:1-8.  "...For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life...."

James 1:27.  "...to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."

Hope these help.

Hi. wow not a good place for children   a guy caught up in is own "thing"

Leaving when this started probably sent a strong message already.  I would pray if you should say anything.  Then if the time comes when you should you will speak truth in love.

I have blasted soo many people over the years and I am sure that is your concern too.

Truth is not worth telling when it is clouded with self rightousnes.  And it usually is.

unless it is spoken in obediance and Love .   I have been looking at my struggle

and see that we all are weak .    You know the log and splinter thing.

I'll go with Steve's Message..  a variation on a theme..   Open eyes on any issue is a gift from God..
