| What is missing in a relationship with Christ that is present in a relationship with an accountability partner?

An accountability partner is a sinner but maybe not caught in the same kind of sin (sexual sin). So the relationship is between two sinners, one of whom may be free of the kind of sin which is the subject of the accountability.
Another difference:
The physical presence of a person that you can touch as well as talk to (if face to face accountability). If not face to face obviously that doesn't apply.

with an accountability partner, there is physical support that is felt. god helps us at all times but we don't necessarily feel his presence. whereas with an ap, we have a living breathing human who identifies with our fleshly struggles and can encourage us at times we need it the most, whether it be with physical contact, communication by computer or telephone, whatever. with god it is done in the spiritual realm that is beyond our sight and touch. even with this tho, there is nothing other than our perception of touch that is lacking in the relationship with christ.

Good question! If God is real to us, and we know His true character, He should be all the accountability one needs. If one does something in front of God, but wouldn't do it if someone else saw, then their knowledge of God, and His reality in that person's life isn't very strong, because we should all be more afraid to do something if God sees, than if someone else did. Or perhaps, they have been taught, or believe, that God is not hurt, dishonored, or repulsed by their sin.

God established that believers are to be in relationship with one another, as well as with Him. Human relationships fulfill Scriptural instructions.
"Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you alsomay be tempted. Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." Gal. 6:1-2.
"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitute in your hearts to God." Col. 3:16.
"Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. ... And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone." 1 Thes. 5:11, 14.
"See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness." Heb. 3:12-3.
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another-- and all the more as you see the Day approaching." Heb. 10:24-5
"Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." James 5:16.
It is not that Christ alone is not enough, but in my opinion, knowing our human frailties, responding to what is more humanly tangible and visible, He established the Church, His Body, to undergird us in our walk with Him, not just to corporately praise, witness, and do good works.
