Hi 9206aaron,

You are not alone.  All who believe are in the same boat.  The apostle Paul wrote of his struggle in Romans  chapter 7, from verse 15 to the end.  Only in reading God's word, prayer, fellowship with other believers, (no isolation,) accountability with godly friends/mentors, all the things Mike talks about in his articles, can there be victory over habitual sin.  God is not surprised by our sin, that is why he made provision for it through Christ's sacrifice on the cross.  Despite how it may appear, every believer, no matter what mask they wear on Sunday morning, struggles with sin.  Yes, we need to seek to escape as much sin as possible, but we will never be perfect here on earth.

Praying for you...

Hi, trying to avoid the things that can give a moment of pleasure, but that I might have to pay for later, I can feel maybe a little bit empty inside. I am 36 yrs old and single.

9206 I know what you mean. And that is sometimes what "they say" but what they mean is that in doing the best we can and taking our struggles and trials to Jesus we are free.

When the Son set us free we are free indeed. basicaly means that as we live, we sin. But even in our sin we have one that is praying for us, Jesus, asking for our forgivness. Now like King David, when we find ourselves in sin we must ask God to forgive us, Be sorry for those sins and then He has already taken it upon himself our sin. And paid the price for it.

It is when we go "out of our way to sin" knowing that what we are doing is wrong. Not asking for forgivness, this is when we get into trouble. This is when we start to walk alone and become slaves again to sin. But even then we have hope in that Jesus will take us again to the Father with what the world, that's us, did to Him.

Cheer up, my friend. If you want to know what/how this loving God really is. Read the story of David. He about broke all the rules set up by God. Adultry murder you name it I believe David did it, yet in Psalms God calls David, The apple of my eye.

Yo too, 9206, are the apple of his eye. He loves you so much that he went to the cross so we here on this board dont have to. Now that is Love.
