I thought I'd start this topic since potentially, it could be quite a big one. Comedy, of course, embraces all sorts of media.  I have only listed a few categories here.  Here are examples of some of my favourites. Regarding the first category - film - since about 6, I have been a fairly avid film watcher.  The rule is, of course, so long as it's clean as well as funny, it's OK.

Category: Film

Film: The Odd Couple. About 1970. Walter Matthau, Jack Lemon. Nearly my favourite film comedy of all time. Saw it at one of the drive in cinemas in Nairobi, 1971. Haven't seen it more than once since.
Film: Grumpy Old Men. Jack Lemon, Walter Matthau.  Amusing and seen it once about 1997.

This looks like a Matthau/ Lemon fan club so I'll try and think of some other actors and films:

Ealing Comedies. British, 1940s, 1950s.  Black-and-white, some color. For example:-
Titfield Thunderbolt.  1953. Sid James, Terry Thomas, et al.
Lavender Hill Mob. 1951. Alec Guiness et al.
The Man in the White Suit. 1951 Alec Guiness.  Allegorical fun

Category: Television: Sitcoms, Farce

There have been many British sit-coms, farce, soaps of course.  Fawlty Towers. Steptoe and Son, Two's Company, To The Manor Born, Yes Minister, The Liver Birds, Open All Hours, Lucky Feller, It Ain't Half Hot Mum, many more, not all of them could be described as "clean".

Category: Autobiography, Fiction

Gerald Durrell: My Family and Other Animals.
Gerald Durrell: Birds, Beasts and Relatives.  Sequel to the above and almost as funny, in my opinion.  Durrell also wrote many other entertaining books with plenty of humour in them.
