So I had just gotten through praising the Lord for his recent provision, and indeed I am grateful, but uh, here's the latest ironic twist.

I went to the dentist to pay for a cleaning and check-up (money God provided, mind you) and learned I need a crown on my back tooth on the lower left to the tune of ...
 $1300
Um, this makes all my previous angst about money issues look like fairly small. :?

I made the appointment for the first visit (out of two) to have my crown done on July 19. It would not be very wise to put this off and I can pay the half of the bill ($650) on the first visit and the other half on the second. My dentist does not offer a payment plan that would extend for months and months, and honestly, I totally understand. I'm a professional myself.

In a worst case scenario, this hefty cost will go on my credit card and I will feel fairly devastated and demoralized to go into some more debt. You are welcome to join me in prayer in petitioning God to provide the finances necessary. I know He does not want me going into the red over this.

Lastly, I write this not to whine or gain pity. I just want to be honest and real with where I'm at right now. This will be a definitely faith stretcher for sure, and already I have been praying with a sense of urgency.

There is this song that we sing at church...

No limits no boundaries

I see increase all around me

Stretch forth break forth

Release me enlarge my territory

Praying that God will meet your need!

I hear you!  TEETH!!!   Just when we got one child out of braces, another needs them! :? Still, there are other issues God uses to stretch me more than money!!!  I think it's partly a male female difference, but I was just going through my "issues" with Him again tonight....with some tears....and an awareness of how others endure so much worse!  I felt like such a baby....and so selfish!  But you know what, the reality is that no matter how big or small the issues, He want does want us to come to Him.....to petition Him fervently and trust Him to provide, just as you are doing, Steve, so thanks for the example....and, yes, we'll join you in praying for this provision for your needs!;)  Thanks for your example of sharing!:)

Update: I might actually pull it off to pay the first half with cash this Friday morning.

I want to praise God for his provision already, and I'm trusting it's in His heart as well that I won't have to use the plastic for any amount of this dental bill. $656.50 will be due after I leave the dentist's office on Friday. Again, it's gonna be close!

Prayed again!  I guess it's my opinion that God love this kind of faith in action!  Let's see what He does!

Oh ... there's even more good news.

The dentist office overquoted my price. It will actually come out to $1030, which means I will only need to pay $380 during visit number two on August 15. Prayerfully, I am confident I can pay that without using the plastic. :D

Currently, my financial state still has quite a few challenges ahead, but man, this experience with God and His provision has enlivened me to trust Him more! :)

So glad to hear it!  I like Psalm 10:32....or is it 32:10???  I don't remember which and  my Bible is upstairs, but it says the Lord's lovingkindness surrounds the man who trusts in Him!!!!

Silly me for not giving an update.

God provided the entire $1030 (the reduced price) for my dental work. No debt baby!

Sometimes I am not the greatest communicator via typing, but man, this experience has bolstered my faith. God is amazing!!!
