I'm no wise-acre on the subject of addiction or cigarette smoking but here are some thoughts...probably more like thinking out loud, if you will. It seems addiction is addiction. One of the keys to fighting the sexual addiction is uncovering what the behavior is doing for you. What's the payoff? Cigarette smoking, like porn, masturbation, and sex addiction is obviously a self-destructive behavior, so there must be a payoff. I've found if I can sit back long enough to recognize what the real payoff is, the real need is uncovered and I am able to see that my real need has nothing to do with the addictive behavior.
John Eldridge, in his book "Journey of Desire" suggests the following:
"Simply stay in your desire for fifteen minutes longer than you usually do [before acting out]. When you're feeling a pull to the refrigerator, or the gym, or the bedroom, stop and let the desire just be; let it become more acute. Don't do anything with it. Let yourself feel it, and as you do, let your heart put some honest words to what you're feeling. You might be suprised at what you find there...The more attuned we are to our true desire, the less prone we'll be to imposters."

Congrats man, that is such a great accomplishment. Now you're lungs can stop cursing you and you can move on to better things. Keep plugging away and look towards future gratification, great work.
