To all:

I was only going to write about two more things on this board: the connection of sin to unbelief, or unbelief to sin, both are correct (mostly from Hebrews, some from the story of Adam and Eve); and the doctrine of Balaam and Balak, the deeds of the Nicolaitanes, and the prophecy of Jezebel (from the first few Chaps. of Revelations, and a little from both Old and New Testaments).

But, unless the Spirit moves otherwise, I think that it would be better for me to leave for awhile, perhaps for good.

For now, I leave you with this:

It is clear from Revelations 2 and 3, in Jesus’ address to the seven churches which are before him, that not everyone who is a Christian overcomes.  There are Christian failures and Christian faithfuls.  I was writing to and for those who desire to be counted among the Christian faithfuls.  To just one of the Churches, Laodiceans, Jesus spoke:

[14] And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
[15] I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
[16] So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
[17] Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
[18] I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
[19] As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
[20] Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
[21] To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
[22] He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Jesus is talking to Christians, not unbelievers, and it requires action on the part of the Christian in order to obtain the benefits of overcoming.  This is so with the other churches as well.

Guitarist:

I read your last post in Accountability after reading this.  I am a big softie for miracles – the real ones.  (Not the stage-show stuff we see so much of today)  One real miracle for me is to see a completely changed life and a heart set ablaze for God.   After years and years of being a failing Christian (my words about myself), that miracle really happened in my life.  And I pray that my brothers can find that Door where the miraculous power of Christ causes a great change to transpire.  Run the race with patience.  Do not give up.

Guitarist, I pray to God our Father, that He answers the deep cries of your heart.  I pray that God will open your eyes to all truth and that a mighty healing of the soul will come from it.  I pray that you will find the gold that God has brought forth in you from the fiery trials he so lovingly brings and has brought to you.  I pray that you receive that Heavenly raiment, and no longer have any shame at all, that when called to the banqueting table that you find yourself properly dressed and filled with tremendous gratitude for the unfathomable Grace upon Grace that God has given you.  God, hear the cries of Thy people and deliver us from evil!  For Thine is the Kingdom, and the Glory, and the Power, forever.  Amen!

Wilderness Voice,

Life in this sort of community is hard, and we all need breaks at times.  Do what you need to do.

You and I haven't always agreed, but I respect your desire to help, and I really appreciate tthe growth and change I think I've seen since you came here.  Come back when and if you are moved and ready.

wilderness,

i really hate to see you go. i know that you must do what is best for you, but others really need your wisdom here. the one thing i have noticed about this board is that people seem to go away after a while. i really feel that as long as we struggle, we need the support from others here, and when we reach the point that the temptations that brought us to join this are not such a stumbling block in our life, it is our responsibility to encourage others and show them that if they fight the good fight, victory over this can be achieved. i know this is selfish but please reconsider. you are loved and needed. things can be so discouraging in our walk with christ and sometimes it is easy to take a break to gather our thoughts and i can understand that, but to see you go for good... makes me sad. remember that you are a part of the body, and god placed you in this group for a reason.

Wilderness Voice, I am put in mind of Amos or Hosea when reading your no-compromising posts concerning the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  I am sorry to hear you need to go away but God's blessing go with you and I hope you will return.

Thank you also for your encouragement.  I give praise to God for you, for your compassion and forgiving heart.  I'm not at all an easy character to know and have made enemies throughout my life, sometimes through misunderstandings but not always.  Thank you for speaking the Gospel without compromise.  God will reward you.
