The Truth Shall Make You Free – II

Lust and the Flattery Connection

As I said in the last “truth shall make you free” post, if you do not wish to know these things, then you are free to choose to ignore.  I print this here for those who desperately want free at any cost.  In this lesson, the cost is ego – vanity – the desire to be envied – the desire to be worshipped in a very evil way, that is, to have others lust after you – the desire for others to succumb to seduction – the desire for the pleasure of being flattered in this manner.

All of our filthy fantasies involve at least one person: ourselves.  Pornography makes fantasy easy in that the imagination we desire is already represented in a lewd picture.  But the fantasy is there, nevertheless.  Our imaginations can produce the same effect when our minds cast forth a stream of ideas and pictures that match or stimulate our sexual desires.  We choose a certain stream that heightens and elevates the burning of lust within in order to achieve the pleasure we desire.  How it culminates, we are all aware.   But every single one of these fantasies, pictures, imaginations, etc. involve more than just the object of our imagination – we are there.  Yes, every time in our minds, we are somehow there in those thoughts.  We are the receiver, the perpetrator, the seduced, the seducer, the beguiler, the beguiled.  And that image of ourselves is always one which flatters our ego – the object is powerless to stop us, can’t live without us, is pleasured by our technique, is filled with insatiable desire for us, will commit crimes to get us – the innumerable fantasies go on and on – but one thing is certain in sexual lust – we are also an object – and object of desire that is flattering in some way to our ego.  This is true even in the grossest of perversions in which we’re the giver or receiver of pain – it all involves the irresistibility of lust.  We can’t be resisted one way or another.

This, my fellow truth seekers, is evil worship.  We provide the settings for a ceremony in which we sacrifice our soul to sex and as sex unto the self.  The image of self that is not righteous after the image of God, but after the image we’ve created of a craven, ugly, creature that can only be satisfied by the product of lust.  Thus lust and the illicit sex act become the means by which we validate our ego – our desire to be envied – worshipped.  You must know that God is not in this kind of house of worship – He does not sit above this altar.  When we do this, it is our selves we are worshipping and committing sin to pleasure ourselves and our insatiable vanity.

The reason I tell you this, is because to destroy this vanity, crucify this perverted ego, will send a death blow to the lust dwelling within.  For if you can kill the desire for the flattery you will be able to completely conquer the lust.

This is not the natural pride of a job well done, or the natural pride of someone’s accomplishments and hard work – such as that of your spouse, son, daughter, friend or relative, the natural pride of keeping yourself appearing well-kept, clean, and neat.  No, what I speak of is the evil pride of an ego that finds its fulfillment and validation in one illicit sexual conquest after another, whether it be mental or manifested in the physical such as adultery, fornication, and perversions.  In this there is a certain wicked satisfaction of a serpent spirit that smolders with a sick desire to be so irresistible that another soul is willing to fall – to go to hell – to be able to have sexual relations with the beguiler.

Such is the wickedness that goes on in our minds and where can God be found in this?  He is not.

If we love God with all our heart, all our mind, all our soul, and all our spirit as we are commanded to do by both the Old and the New Testament – by Jesus and the Apostles and Prophets – by Law and by Grace – then this evil ego will have no more place in us and will be cast out as we cleanse our inner temples and make them a fit place for God to dwell.  He is Holy and cannot dwell amidst the smut, lewdness and evil cravings of our heart.

This is what is meant when the bible says the heart is desperately wicked above all things, who can know it?  We need new, clean hearts.  We need to love God and stop loving the pleasures that flesh brings to the body and to our warped ego.

This my friends is that truth that shall make you free.  Accepting it cuts like a searing knife, but those are the wounds of a friend – the Great Physician Christ Jesus.  If we are deep into sin, none of this is instant – a lot has to be cut out before healing can commence.

I will write more.

Love in Christ,

P.S.  Holy matrimony lived just between the two put together by God – should only allow for a sexual function between just those two – mentally and physically.  If the couple follows this plan of the Creator – it shuts out the countless avenues of infidelity and adultery which form the basis of flattering fantasies.  This is why many a wicked person actually goes after a married individual to form an illicit partnership or the married person seeks one outside their bonds – it flatters them.   This is why the fornicator finds sex out of marriage thrilling – they couldn’t wait, had to have me, I’ll see how well they please me before we wed.  Worship of self instead of God.  How horrible we really become disobeying God!  And yet, He is so loving and kind to rescue us from all this!

WV and Dennis,
This is starting to look like a thread that needs locking/deleting.  Since the two of you seem to rub each other the wrong way, I STRONGLY suggest that you refrain from being involved in each other's threads.  I am deleting all but WV's initial post, in case what he is saying is of help to others.

God is absolutely filled with Grace and has granted Grace again and again.

But people on this board and all over the earth are groaning under the weight of their sins and crying: "Help me!  Help me!  I'm drowning!  I'm despairing!"  And all the forgiveness and grace of God hasn't helped them because they are trapped by their own love of the pleasure that sin brings.

In this case Grace brings forth Truth to set the captives free.  The bible is absolutely filled with unpleasant truths.  They are unpleasant to the flesh.  Our sins are caught in this flesh that needs desperatley to be crucified to be circumcised from us.  These actions are painful.

Sin does have the same roots.  God did not create sin and yet sin has abounded and blossomed into a tree with many different fruits.  If you look at the fruit of sin, you could of course say that one size does not fit all.  But at the roots it looks very much alike.

It all stems from loving self more than loving God.  This is true of everyone.
It all stems from what the serpent told Adam and Eve: 4] And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:  [5] For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

We all believe that sin won't hurt us.  But not so, just as it destroyed Adam and Eve from the Garden, it will destroy us from walking with God.  And when we seek sin, somewhere lurking at the back is the lie that we shall be as gods.  Our vain self seeks to be elevated by our sins.  This does apply to all the descendants of Adam and Eve.

Jesus came to set us free from this.  His mission wasn't forgiveness so that we can continue on and on - but forgiveness and grace to go and sin no more.
