My question is for Mike Genung (or secretary) and relates to the Recovery.pdf file.
The file lists in the 'Phases of Recovery', 'The Pink Cloud' which contains the statements "Is a gift, Doesn't last and Enthusiasm may not be shared". Is there some document or radio broadcast that expands on these statements? Also, I'm curious as to why that phase is refered to as the Pink Cloud?

I am not sure what Recovery pdf you are referring to. What's the Pink Cloud thing?

Sorry Barb, it appears I have made another blunder. The "Phases of Recovery" was on a 4Mb PDF file from Safe Families Tech Mission, http://safefamilies.org that I downloaded from a link while exploring your site.
They list in their "get more help" page Mike Genung's Strength in Numbers page. For some reason I incorrectly assumed Mike may have produced the Phases section of the document.
I appologise for wasting your time and will contact their site for more info.

Not a problem and no need to apologize. I was just curious to know what you were referring to. Thanks for letting me know.

Hi, I'm the Safe Families director who wrote the file being referenced. Pink Cloud describes kind of a honeymoon period addicts often experience after the initial withdrawal ends. A euphoric sense of joy and freedom and the sense of being untouchable by temptation. It's temporary. I detail it here: http://safefamilies.org/webcasts/recovery/Presentation_Files/index.html

Hey Bill,
Thank you for that URL and welcome to BG. It certainly makes sense with the audio accompanyment. That is a fantastic message (although the puppet's audio was indeciferable; maybe because I'm still on a dialup), you have indeed been on a journey through recovery. It's well worth listening to and aspiring to and I recommend it to all.
