OK I don't want to make an issue about this, but it has been on my mind for a while. Would it be possible to make the women with sex addiction have a seperate section not accessable by males?
I don't think it is beneficial for me to read about a 17 year old female who is addicted to masturbation. They don't have to go into much detail, and my mind does the rest. Not that I wouldn't want to help, or even have her get help, but I think women would be better suited to help her. I really don't know how to say this without sounding mean, but it's not good for me to read.
I have been avoiding this site simply for that reason. It has become a something of a trigger for me. I have not acted out in I don't know how long, and I praise God for that, but whenever I read about a girl with the same problem as I have I get that old feeling. God gives strenth I have been able to squash it, and it's really not that big of an issue for me anymore, but I think it might be a real stumbling block for someone who is new to recovery.
Please don't take this as a criticism of your site, it has been a real blessing.
With Love In Christ

It's the same for me, Billy. I think from the addicted or recently addicted male's perspective, although it might sound isolationist, it would be for our better sexual health, healing and recovery. When you have a contagious disease, you're put in an isolation ward. Why not apply that rule to sexual addicts? Sexual sinners? There's a Christian forum I belong to which has a strict segregation rule. It works well there. Guitarist63

| I don't think we are the only ones. Take a moment and check out the amount of times the female sex addicts posts are read compared to your average dude with a mb problem. The girls posts are getting a lot more hits. It's a simple truth that I hope the admins see.

There is a section of the forum here Women Who Struggle with Sex Addiction
for women. Is there a post that needs to moved to this area. I have been away for a few weeks.

Sorry I think you misunderstood (or maybe I am)
I was talking about removing the womens forum altogether. Not off the site because they need help and advice as much as we do, but just into an area where only women can go.
Male sex addicts don't need to read about female sex addicts, for most it's nothing more than a trigger.
Is that possible?

| I am sure the female addicts may also think of the mens threads as triggers also. I do not think it is possible to have a privet forum for men or women. I suggest that if you feel you may be tempted to just not go into the womens area of the forum. You would have to check with the forums Admin, but I see no way to have an area privet, but I could be wrong.

Gentlemen:
I think Tears4Us is correct in directing people to stay away from posts which may trouble them. Trying to apply a standard of separation would be almost impossible for say a struggling homosexual. Should they post and read from only those with the same problem? Or in a men's only forum? They would face similar trigger issues and perhaps moreso. But being in a female only forum wouldn't work either.
It is good practice to strengthen the willpower in such a mild and safe environment as this. We could go looking for wrong things almost anywhere and find them.
May God's Love Strengthen you more and more.
