I was a leader in this church for several years.  My exwife and I joined this church for the love we were shown after visiting several times and the members finding out that a week after we were married I had become very seriously ill, almost dying, they were there through many hospital stays.  When we became foster parents they were there.  But when my problem with porn and chatting came out after i was arrested for what the authorities say was online solicitation of a minor,  where did they go.  Because we were in the process of adopting our foster child, i offered Stephanie a divorce so that this child could have a home.  It has been almost 6 months and I have only heard from 3 people at that church.  The pastor and I are good friends.  He helps to hold me accountable along with my accountability partner.

I have read statistics that state 1 in 2 men have problems with porn.  One of the other leaders in this church had an affair.  Yet he was forgiven.  If this many men in churches have a problem then why arent more churches involved in mentoring men.

The church I attend now has accepted me.  I have spoken individually with the pastor and the Elders.  One of the Elders/Deacons is a Police officer.  When we got together to talk, the first thing he said was that He knew I was going to come to him.

He then said He was my accountability partner.  We cried together, prayed together and read scriptures together.  That first time we visited we become soul brothers.

I hope and pray for more men like Doug, who will step up to the plate and become mentors for those who are hurting.

One of the problems may be that some people just don't know what to say to you. However that is no excuse for not being your friend or not acting like your brothers and sisters.

To many Christians some sins are just so much worse than others. While that may be true to a degree any sin will land you in Hell if you are not trusting in Jesus for forgivness.

To me the end result is the church is not prepared to deal with homosexuality and sexual perversity. Two popular options are to ignore it or reject the sinners alltogether. There needs to be a third option where we learn how to deal with the sin while still loving the sinner.

Love&Amp. I agree. Christians must not be condemnatory or they are just the same as the pharisees which Jesus described as like clean cups on the outside and filthy on the inside or he likened them to whitewashed tombs.

The good news is the love and redemption offered at your new church - Christianity in a nutshell. Continue to walk in God's grace :)
