I am praising God this morning. For the first time in many years my husband has really taken the steps needed to overcome. He came clean with me, had me put up filters and also put his AOL screen name under parent controls. He did not take his laptop to work with him for the last week and he went to the Christian book store and got the book Every Man's Battle.

He also asked a good Christian friend to be his accountability partner at work. He did not sleep well last night, he tossed and turned, so I prayed for him. Maybe this is DT's withdrawals, I'm really not sure. He is even trying to stop smoking. I just praise God this morning for the steps taken over the past week. This is a process and I am in it with him for the long haul.

Wow, those are some really good signs!!!  Praise God is right!

Sorry, but the bad moods do seem to be a part of the withdrawal process....it's like he's going through withdrawal from two drugs, the porn and the niccotine!  I do admire your level-headedness and faith!!!

With care and prayer!;)

You know, Tears4Us, I think you hit the nail on the head....it is so much about the spiritual battle which naturally takes place within and all around us when we renounce the lies of the enemy and his ways and begin living for and worshiping the King and loving His Kingdom!  It may feel like an up and down roller coaster for a time, but the fact that your husband desires to worship is very encouraging since demons flee in the presence of praise!!!!  Thanks for keeping us posted!;)

Praise God, indeed!  And amen to the other replies.

I'm showing my age, but the praise music reminds me of a song from my teens:

"for the chains that seem to bind you serve only to remind you that they drop powerless behind you when you praise Him."

Our for year old granddaughters fav song is of all songs is "Power in the Blood." She goes around the house singing as loud as she can "POWER POWER, POWERIN THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB." She sings it for PaPa all the time. Last night I seen a tear in his eye as she sang

Would you be free from the burden of sin?
There's power in the blood, power in the blood;
Would you over evil a victory win?
There's wonderful power in the blood.

Would you be free from your passion and pride?
There's power in the blood, power in the blood;
Come for a cleansing to Calvary's tide;
There's wonderful power in the blood.

She is only four and she knows every word of this song. Now that is a God thing:)

Things are still really good. Hubby is in a better mood...We are getting ready to move to a new house. 6 months ago my daughter and her three small children came to live with us, ages 1, 2 and 4. We live in a small apartment and have been seeking God on a move, not just because we need more room, but because our marriage needs a fresh start.

We have vowed to bless the house before we go into it and Hubby and I has vowed to God to keep it as free from sin as possible. You know "As for me and my house we will serve the Lord!" I am feeling really good about the move.

Hubby is still be open and for us that is a huge brake through, he is normally very stand offish about the addiction. I am just praising God that we have come this far....Just baby steps, but they are steps none the less...

Things are still going very well, we just moved into our new house and the move was horrid but worth it. My daughter and her three children live with us, good news is her and her husband are trying to work things out. He left and moved over 600 miles away leaving us to take care of her and the children. He will be back here in 2 weeks. I pray that they can find a place oft their own.

Hubby has been really good. We had a slight fuss during our move, but it was not porn relates, just move and heat related. He is still working on getting better and is making more progress everyday. We are spending more time together and together with God. I have watched his relationship really grow with God and family.

Thanks for all the needed prayers and I will update again soon......

Thats wonderful!!  I am very happy for you!  You are an insperation to me, as in your post I can see happiness and progress shining through.  I long for that.

I keep you in my prayers!  I will be praying for your daughter and her husband too.  I hope they are able to work it out and can find a place of thier own.

Oh and I so understand how you feel about moving.  We moved into our house last year, and it was one of the most misserable experiences of my life.  I know it is well worth it... but boy was it stressful... and that stress makes people grumpy.  I wouldn't worry too much about an argument brought on during that time.

Thanks sweetie for the prayers, we can never have enough of them:)

You will have it again. I try my best to find something positive in everything and everyone. I have had people say I am the sweeties happiest  person they have ever met. But there were times I was dying on the inside and smiling on the out. I have never been the kind of person to let others see me hurt or upset. It was my way of hiding and not dealing with my hurt feelings.

This site is a blessing to me, because I can vent when I am hurting, hey no one knows me here....lol but in all truth you guys more then likely know me best.

My husbands addiction left me lonely, hurting and feeling jaded in more ways the one. I had huge trust issues and was always thinking negative thoughts, it was starting to spill over into my ability to be a good mother, a good wife and my job. I do hair for a living. I have always tried to be a comfort for the hundreds of women that sit in my chair each week, be it young or old, I have always had a gift to not only make my clients beautiful but also to communicate.

I can not tell you of the clients that have cried on my shoulder. Over the years I have held a client who's husband was dying of cancer, a grandmother who lost a child, the teens that were having problems at home or at school. My lonely little ladies who I have to mark out an hour on my book, because I know it is more then getting their hair done as to why they come to me each week. The batter wife's, the sick, the list goes on and on.

But I found that when I my husbands addiction started to effect me that the conversations we were having were getting more about me and my problems and I had to stop that. I had to let go and let God. Just last week I had a new lady come in the shop and she just started to cry. She told me all about her husband and how he looked at porn and she did not know what to do. I gave her some advice from my experiences and   she was happy she found someone who understood and rebooked with me for next week. She just needs a friend and that is something I have always been good at. So if God is using my husbands addition so that someday we can minister to others then there is the positive and it is worth it.

I have often thought about making some pamphlets for women married to porn addicts and leaving them in the shop for wife's to pick up. I would list a places like this site and others for them to go to get support. CUT IT OUT is a program for hair stylist to be able to see the signs of domestic violence. We take a course and then we place help cards in the bathroom and other places around the shop. We also have posters. I have placed over three thousand cards in my shop in the past two years. That blew my mind.

What if we did the same for porn addiction?

Wow... That is a wonderful idea.  I can not tell you how hard it was for me to find help... I seemed so very alone.  There wasn't anyone to turn to, and ask for direction.  I had to do the search on my own.  If I hadn't already understood the workings of the internet... I would be completely lost... as I know there are probably lots of women out there searching, and not knowing where to look.  If I had stumbled on one of the pamplets like you discribe... I would have been forever grateful.  I think it is a most wonderful idea.
