|
help me,
I want to masturbate again. I said something stupid at work and it could get me in trouble. Now my mind is in a storm about stuff. I want to just buy time to get away from it and masturbate. Think about something else relieving. I"ve been thinking about how I should respond and what I should say and how I should deal with this situation if i get approached. I can't get it off my mind and I am tempted to the point of masturbating. I am such an independent thinker I have a tendency to just say I'm going to do this, screw you Holy Spirit and other forms of defense and conviction and do it.

Heavenly father, please draw near to SPE right now, and help him to draw near to you. Help him not to rely on himself or this habit to see him through stress, but to lay it down at the foot of the cross and trust that you will give him wisdom, and guide him, whatever the outcome. Like my wife tells me when I say that - "OK. Nobody's stopping you. Go ahead and do it if you want". It will be another opportunity for you to observe and decide if that's what you want for the rest of your life, or not. Sometimes we have to "just do it", to realize that it's probably not what we want for our life. Of course, if you said, "I'm just going to kill someone", I might not say that, but the same would be true, in any case -- ultimately we make our own decisions for ourselves. We are halfway wanting someone to save us from ourselves, and we halfway resent the fact that consequences come with each action. I know - I've been there many times (even recently). I think that the habit, or addiciton, turns us inward, and away from good things, and Satan capitalizes on it big time. It's easy for us to believe these things we're saying are coming from inside ourselves, but it's not our true nature. Our true nature is a child of God, with his attributes (mostly latent) in each of us, but we are blinded to that fact, and tend to believe that what Satan puts into our heart and mind and mouth is the "real" us, and what we really want. You're a good man for trying. If you decide to masturbate, we'll still be there by you, for what little bit we can do... Pray ;-) I guess. Praying for you --
