Good Monday evening, all.  Rick here.  I have posted a few messages on this forum over the last 30 days or so.  I have stayed away from porn and masturbation for 45 days, but I really need your prayers this week.

Since confessing to my wife and my Men's Group at Chuch about my sexual addiction, I have been clean (again 45 days), but I am now away on my "first" business trip by my lonesome.  And, boy, the temptations are everywhere.  There is a mall across the street from my hotel so I went to the food court for dinner (yeah, I know, pathetic) and to walk around and get some exercise.  But, I had to leave because of the dress code of the young women and the images of women in the store advertising campaign.

Now, I am back in my hotel room with my computer, and I know what I should do tonight (read the Bible and The Road to Grace) as well as what I should not do.  Just writing this post is a step in the right direction.

Enough ramblings.  Please pray for me, and I give anyone who reads this permission to ask me next week if I stayed sober.

God Bless
Rick

Rick H, I'm praying for you.  I know what you're going through - I had a sort of similar experience to yours last December on a business trip, when a team of us stayed in a hotel with a night club on the top floor where the most lewd things went on, based on what the other members of the Team told me.  Things too lewd for a recovering SA, and I prayed to God throughout to keep me away.

I pray the Lord Jesus keeps in your mind, Rick H, his grace and the access he gives you to the throne of grace, where you can go boldly and confidently to obtain mercy and to receive grace to help in time of need.  Lord Jesus, Rick is in need even now, Lord God.  I pray for his realization that whatever he is feeling in the flesh is in the flesh, his old man, and having accepted you as his saviour, Lord Jesus, he has been set free from his flesh, and from all the spirits of lust that have harboured there, so Father, even now, I pray for your Holy Spirit to bring to his mind, in his new man, the right verses Lord God to empower him to keep him completely sober on this trip, throughout this week, empowered to look away from anything that will engender lust, Lord God, empowered to remember that you Rick are a son of the most high God, a son of the living God, and that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, you have freedom in Jesus, even if it does not feel so in your body, it is so in your spirit and in your new man, which you will walk in on this trip, finding yourself able to read your Bible and keep your covenant with your eyes to look away, and your covenant with your mind to crucify every thought that has not proceeded from the mind of Christ.  Father let the mind of Christ in Rick H even now exert its authority over the conduct of Rick H, today, all day, and this week, all week, to bring glory to your matchless name, amen.

Rick, are you anywhere you can run? Is there a gym in the hotel?

Thank you so very much for your reminder of who we serve and your prayers on my behalf.  I pray that we both will remain strong our Lord Jesus Christ, and that we will reject all unrighteousness.

To answer your other question, yes there is a "exercise room"  (really just a treadmill  but I worked out on it this am.)   I am an old distance runner.  Slow but sure, and I do enjoy working out and praying.

Got to run, but thank you again for your prayers and encouragement.

God Bless

Living with Grace,
Thank you for the post.  I am doing well.  I was in training in Boston, MA this week.  I have prayed for you, Art and several of our other brothers today while I was driving to CT.

God Bless.
Rick
