I am finding that the essential ingredint to receiving grace and deliverance is humility and brokeness.  I see it ever so clearly today as others have the same problems as I do.

I have a not mastrubated or viewed porn or even wanted to do either of those things.
I must me receiving grace..  I also know that most of us will not want to stay in this place for long.
I will boast in my weakness.  I really need God today. and tomorrow and the next day.

Any body that views this post please come along side and share you weakness and emotional pain that has driven you off the path of his peace..

Hi a4givn,

You're absolutely right about being broken and feeling humble.  I am reminded of Psalm 51 verse 17. Guitarist63

It's so very chilling when I look back and see where the Lord has spoken to me through others and circumstances and I didn't see it.

And I wonder sometimes now why the heavens can be like brass when I pray...

Thanks for the reminder,  The fact that I am here today is nothing short of the Lord's guiding hand and Grace that I will never understand:

"After all can't he see self centered monster I have been?"

" I can't be a believer with theses thoughts in my head!"

" I can't stop looking..he must not want me, or otherwise he wouldn't let me look"

" The power in my lust is more powerful then the love of God in my heart"

"I'm gonna sin so far and so bad that He will never take me back and it will be bad later but I'm gonna have my kingdom now"

The sad thing is, I used to believe these lies.

Of course he saw what a monster I have been, but the blood covered it and when I broke and repented, he was there. Of course the others were thinking that I could be a "auto pilot Christian" that God would do everything for me and I wouldn't have to struggle with any of it instead of being refined in the fire. Failing to see that struggle can build us in the walk (Who walks with Jesus with no struggle in the Bible anyway?) led me to open rebellion, and here I am.

It's still hard for me, it hurts, I am ashamed for letting my Lord and others down, but I have a gift now of really knowing my Lord and the love he has for me and some day when i learn to let my thick headed skull give things and and TRUST Him more, those heaven will open up again and it's gonna be a wonderful day!

God Bless

Art

Thanks, Art for sharing such a zeal for the Lord.  John Ch.15, verse 1-9 is a salutory warning to those who would backslide and so is Hebrews 6, 4-6 but we need to be careful about selecting scripture that may be used for our condemnation (by the enemy) and not for our edification and growth (in the Lord.)

All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

I should find the verse for that. Stephen

Hi Stephen,

That would be Rom. 3:23, but also consider 1 John 1:9.
