hello
am new here and thank God i found this site...am also dealing with masturbation and pornography,a habit i had before i became a christian but it seems its the thing that i still hold on to from my past life.I really would like to have this devil's stronghold on me broken,and i hope that by being accountable here,and reading posts here,and with the help of the Holy Spirit,I'll be free at last!

hello everyone,thanks for welcoming me here.I went for our Bible study this week and something great happened,the preacher was talking about being tired of where you are,being tired of what keeps you down and how God is ready to deliver all who cry out to Him,I could not help the tears flowing from my eyes coz i felt God in that place,and lastly the preacher called me out,saying he doesn't know why God's telling him to call me in front,but i knelt down there and cried out to God,and I know I'll be more than a conqueror.
I havent been to any porn sites since i joined so far and i pray never to go back there.

That's good to hear, Flowerpower. I pray that God's conviction for the sin will be lasting and that He will continue to bring you to that perfection which is only obtained by daily walking by faith in the way of the Spirit of God who leads you.

its me again,flowerpower.i thot i had really overcome this coz since i joined av been able to stay online n not browse to any porn site,but again am down...jus came across some clips and am like maybe i can watch for a minute or so.i did watch for a minute but all the same am now feeling so so so bad,as if i sat there and watched the whole thing..its like i made one step forward then 5 steps back!
help me pray that this should end..am in my late 20's n am sure i'll get married soon,and from what am reading at this site,i wouldnt like this habit to follow me into marriage.
God please help me!

Hi Flowerpower,
Take courage. A lot here have been where you are. In my experience of the first stages of the battle to stop this, the temptations became more insistant and it became even more difficult to resist it.
It's good that your conscience reacted to this setback in the way you describe. Do you have anyone local to go to and confess this. A priest, perhaps? Confession face to face is very effective. You have to be careful, of course, to whom you confess to. Some people can't handle it. Keep open to God, praying, reading your Bible and you'll win this, with God's help.
