day 1 ---
hi everyone, i hope this is ok for me to make a thread to keep track of my progress spiritually, seems like others have done so and are finding success. i want to post here everyday to tell who ever cares to read this how im doing in quitting porn and getting closer to God basically. God has removed much pride from me, but there is an element that is still here that wont allow me to fail if someone else is watching me.
thanks to truthseeker for the suggestion to find offline accountability. it is something i desire to have but that i need prayer for the courage to do. i do sense myself heading in that direction slowly but certainly. next week i begin attending a mens only bible study. i have located celebrate recovery and another men's only accountability group that is run right in my church, so pray that i'll have to courage to join one of those.
as i said before i just got married to a wonderful girl. eventually we will will have kids and ill have a son. i need to have an awesome testimony for my future son that i kept his mother and father's marriage pure all those years.

day 4 (monday) ---
feeling weak. the past 3 days ive been pretty strong not to look women other than my wife lustfully. today i havent been so strong but i still have not looked at pornography and i do not want to. but i need prayer to keep my eyes pure and turn off the triggers like tv and the internet when i am tempted. thanks.

day 1 ---
i stumbled yesterday but i did not look at porn. if i did i would just say so but i got sidetracked by some stuff on a regular website that did not contain nudity but was slightly sexual in nature. i was not sure if i should call today day 5 or day 1 but im going ahead and just starting at 1 and this is why:
i did not make my commitments in staying pure clear enough for myself and others and even for God to see what i am committed in doing and not doing. so here it is:
--- I commit to not looking at pornography.
--- I commit to not looking at websites or any internet content that in any way can be seen as sexual in nature or compromising to my marriage.
--- I commit to keeping the TV shows, movies and music I listen to pure.
--- I commit to spend time praying and reading God's word for at least 30 minutes EVERYDAY.
--- I commit to keeping my eyes pure as in not looking at another woman lustfully besides my own wife.
Please continue to pray for me.... it really makes a difference. My prayer request is to be able to stand and resist temptation.

Breakthru, good to hear you're fighting this. I pray you will keep focused on God and pray for strength to endure and resist temptation.
I am not doing well in the past 12 hours. Succumbed in the early hours and need to be more determined to hate this sin and ignore any discomfort caused by abstaining. I also let my thoughts go where they shouldn't today.

you will be in my prayers guitarist, i am finding God moving in my life by praying and asking for prayer and reading God's word. i pray you'll receive the same strength that i am beginning to recieve.
day 2 (weds) and day 3 (thurs) --- clean
finding strength as i stated above, through prayer and reading. please continue to pray for myself and my marriage.

Sorry for your stumble but praying you'll be able to stand and resist the temptation in future. I am finding that prayer for strength, endurance, and faith are seeing some fruit, although I am still not free of the "m".
