|
It seems I hit about 2 weeks of staying clean then I look for reasons to act out. Busy week and my wife fell asleep early. Went to get in bed and she was sound asleep. Decide since she didn't care enough to stay awake then I would run out to the bar. Went to strip bar. I want to be the husband our Father wants but it seems always looking for reason not to. Please pray for me, will try to check in more regularly, it does help the temptation.

| I too have been a periodic (though of late I have been blessed with stretch of about 6 weeks of sobriety). And, like you, I would find an excuse to act on my lust based on any perceived slight by my wife (see my recent post in the "Accountability" section). I will pray for you, that you will indeed be the husband God intends for you to be (just as I ask you to pray I also will do so).

My experience with my wife in the lovemaking department is that sometimes, if not most times, you have to let her know what is on your mind. My wife is always eager to fulfill my desires but she needs to be told. It took many years for this dummy to figure that one out. I always thought that she must be thinking the same things I'm thinking. Suprise. They don't. Women don't think like we do. Sorry to hear of your setback but try to pick up and go forward.
