Free_Dove, remember that Jesus said that we should have a faith like that of a child.  It doesn't have to be a complicated faith. A simple, heart-felt sincere faith in Jesus Christ.  I became a Christian at 16 and baptised that year.  I didn't understand a lot of what Scripture contains because I hadn't read most of it by that time.   The early church didn't have the New Testament scripture - they (Acts onwards) lived their faith and wrote the pages with their actions.   The four canonical gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were also not around for the very early church to read, yet they believed!
If you have already prayed to Jesus, repenting of all your sins, received His forgiveness and have invited Jesus into your heart, then you are a Christian.  If you confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, the Saviour, the Son of God, you also must have the Holy Spirit who indwells all believers.  Guitarist63

Day 7 of freedom, it is a little difficult because my body need to accustom to chastity, the sexual imbalance is high and also my libido (I'm single). I'm determinate to resist to temptations and during the difficulties of the first days of chastity. It is difficult but not impossible. I need to focus and Jesus, surrender everything on Him and ask for strength. Thanks to everybody for their support.

Blessings,

Free-Dove, it's good to hear you are clear of "m" for 7 days.  It is tough, as I am finding, but the way forward is certainly to fix our eyes on the Saviour, draw strength from Him and trust that He will set us free.  Continuing to uphold you in your battle.

Well done, Freedove - I'm cheering you on.  I am only on day 3 of the present cycle but must determine to resist temptation when the physical aches get more pronounced.  I'm told it gets easier to resist as time goes on.  Upholding you. Guitarist63

Thank you guitarist. Your are on day 3. The first days are the harder: the sexual imbalance is high because our bodies are  accustomed to frequent release via masturbation. The more you resist, the more your body will be accustomed to chastity. The pain that you probably feel on some intimate part of your body is normal. Your body will eliminate your semen via blood system slowly or via wet dreams (usually the body use the twice options but don't worry if wet dreams doesn't happen).

If you have any question do not hesitate to pm me  or ask me directly on this thread.

God bless you guitarist, I will pray for you.

Thanks for your encouragement, advice, information and prayers, FreeDove.  You have my prayers also.  4th day of the present cycle and doing very well, thanks entirely to the Lord God but not forgetting your prayers.  As St Paul says, "pray at all times." Without God's gift of strength, this whole effort would be unfruitful.  I can't quit in my own strength, even if my mind and spirit want to.  The flesh will drag me down again and again, relentlessly.  Thanks to God, He will set me free from this sinful habit.
A lot of domestic work and gardening to do most of the day.  Very useful to keep active on practical tasks that can keep one busy and focused on healthy pursuits.  I will persevere with this and never give up.  It seems such a petty habit, too, to have such a hold on a person.
It's not pain exactly that I suffer but heightened sensations (in the extreme) and a lot of aching.  It is certainly nothing to fuss about when we know how much pain and suffering our Lord Jesus went through because He loved us so much to go through the worst possible physical agonies and much more than that because he also bore our sins and our diseases on the cross (see Isaiah 53 and read Psalm 22, other prophetic passages in the Old Testament) and all for love of His world that is fallen in sin and with no hope without Him.  God save the world that repents and turns to Him.  Guitarist63

Free Dove,

As someone who has struggled with this sin for 20 years let me offer a little comfort.  I think how we beat this this thing is a little different for each of us, but there are always some things that we all have in common to gaining victory:

1. You must recognize this as sin and hate the sin.

2. You must turn to God and ask for his strength in your hour of temptation. Ask him for the way of escape.

3. Make practical plans to avoid tempting situations. If you need to get up from your computer, or go for a walk, or call a Christian friend, then do it.

4. Most important realize that true believing Christians struggle and fall into this sin.  There are two lies the Devil will tell you.

Before you engage in looking at pornography:

"Its only pictures, everyone does it - your not hurting anyone. God will forgive you, just go ahead." While it is true that God will forgive you, its not just pictures - its sin.  He uses God's forgiveness to make you think you can continue.

Then next lie he tells you is after you masturbated. Thats when the feeling of depression fall on you like a stack of bricks. He then tells you that you are not saved, "how could a real disciple of Christ do these things? Could a real disciple of Christ continue to fail? Of course not."

You see he plays both sides of the fence. He uses God's forgiveness to entice you to sin, then he uses God's justice to show you there is no way you could be saved.

Unfortunately there are some preachers today who preach just that, that real Christians always have victory, and those who seem to be believers but continually fail could not possible be true believers. But that could not be further from the truth of the Bible.

Do not loose faith my friend.

John

I'm back. I have sin in many way. Even more than porn and masturbation. Sexual sins and non-sexual sins. I'm repentant. I want to serve God, and give to Him all my life. First day of freedom.

I'm in a terrible depression, my girlfriend just left me (not about my addictions even if she knew about). Please pray for me.

Hello Free dove,
I can relate to what happened to you.
One passage that have kept me from suiciding (in my teens) is:
2Ti 2:13  If we believe not, yet He abideth faithful: He cannot,  deny Himself.

God, never left you Free dove, He is always near, loving you. Although how many tresspasses, betrayal, His Love is perfect, He continues to be faithful. Your girlfriend may of left you, but God haven't, you are not alone.

Praying for you

free dove,

I'm praying for you as well, and rejoicing with you in your repentance.  Praise God He always is there to receive us when we repent.

I noticed in an earlier posting that you had experienced some days of freedom in the past.  This has been a common pattern for me as well.  If it's ok for me to ask, what will you do differently this time?  What specifically is God teaching you?

Free Dove, very sad to hear you are hurting right now, with the break up with your girlfriend and your recent struggles with sins.  Praying for you tonight.  God loves you, is always faithful and will never leave you.  He has the right person for you - in His timing - so painful though it is to wait, wait patiently and God will reward you.

As far as my own struggle with sexual sin is concerned, am now into 11th day since last "m" but not getting complacent about that.  Very early days. There may be years of victory but it only takes one lapse to begin the process of getting free again.  Guitarist63

Even if I have no income for the moment, I don't regret it. Very good software and impossible to bypass. My only problem is internet porn. My friend have the full control of my computer.

I have other addiction trouble, alcohol (sober but fell recently) and tobbacco, i just restart smoking (but want to get rid again of it). I'm very sad about my ex girlfriend.

I had trouble with my filter so I had to disable it. And i fell. After few days I decided to repent and to return to God. It was a real repentance, I have stopped to smoked (and I'm still a non-smoker), I decided to stop drinking, and stop all sexual immorality.
I was ok for one day, and today I fell miserably. I have a terrible sin to confess. On a blog, I sin with masturbation in front of a picture of a teen in swinsuit. I'm devastated.

I fell me SO  bad. May I be forgiven? I want to cey, this is horrible what I have done.

Don't know what to do....
