Good Day, gentlemen. Rick H. here. Several months ago, I posted my story. But, I have not posted any entries in the last several weeks since I was studying for a professional certification (PMP). Suffice to say that I have had my ups and downs in my battle with porn, but I truly desire the Holy Spirit to heal me of this sin. I have been clean for 2+weeks. Nothing to brag about, and I need greater accountability.
Hence, I have a rather unusual request. I would like someone who would be willing to be my remote accountability partner. Simply stated, we can keep it simple, but I would like someone who is willing to receive a monthly report from Covenant Eyes of the websites that I visit.
No charge to you, but you would have to be willing to receive the report via email, review it and then hold me accountable for anything that looks suspicious. There may be two reports since I have two computers that I use (home pc and laptop).
Let me know if you are interested, then, if you are willing, I will be happy to tell you more of my story. And, of course, you can tell me yours.
God Bless
Rick

What's your thinking about why it's better to be accountable to some remote person you have never met instead of to someone who is a friend or relative in your area to whom you really feel accountable, and who can offer support? That's a lot scarier, of course, but isn't that a sort of openness and honesty you want eventually to open up? Why will a stranger help you more?
Just a gentle question, of course.

I have to echo Tim's question. My accountability is my wife and my pastor.Beleive me I don't want either of them to see what I use to look at. (Over 2 years of viewing any porn) all by God's grace

Tim, setfree2,
You are right, of course. This falls into the category of, "What was I thinking?"
Thanks much and God Bless.

We've all been in the land of "what was I thinking". It could also be that for right now, remote accountability is all somebody can bring themselves to do. I'm glad that openness with real people around you does seem possible, though. It certainly seems like a goal to work towards, in any case.
Good job!

Hey Rick,
If you are struggling with porn and self-gratification I want to suggest you look into Setting Captives Free. http://www.settingcaptivesfree.com . This is a free 60 day Bible course. Most people get a mentor to walk with you through the Bible course. I found this a valuable tool for helping me to stop viewing porn and lusting as well as for self-gratification.
God Bless,
Keith
